Product questions and AI experience settings
Give customers a useful starting point with product-specific questions, reusable workspace content, and a choice of AI response levels.
Reusable questions, product-specific order
In Inventory, click Questions to browse the paginated workspace library, create a question with + New question, or edit an existing one. When creating or editing a product, use Questions at the bottom of the form to review the selected questions, then click Add more. A separate picker lets you search, filter, paginate, edit questions and select several at once, up to five including the current selection. Confirm with Use selected questions, or cancel to keep your original selection. Creating a library question does not automatically select it. Use the arrows to set their order, then save the product. Each product starts with three questions based on its template. Untouched defaults follow the current template; saving a product selection stores that selection independently. You can edit or remove them, add two more, or save no initial questions. Each product can use up to five unique questions; a workspace can keep up to 100 reusable questions. Product data and question assignments save together.
Editing a reusable question changes its text wherever it is assigned. Ordering is stored separately per product. For example, a cleanser and a serum can share “How should I use it?” while placing that question in different positions.
Use template defaults selects the three template questions; save the product to apply them. The external DELETE assignment operation restores defaults that follow the template automatically. Existing products automatically use defaults without a manual update. Suggestions are available for general commerce, beauty and textiles in English, Turkish and German; other languages use English until customized questions are supplied. Custom questions use the exact text you write.
Choose available AI levels
Open Workspace settings → Update the current workspace → AI experience, below AI behavior instructions. Enable Fast, Comprehensive, or both. At least one must stay enabled. Question defaults follow the selected website template automatically. Use the workspace Save button to save AI behavior instructions and enabled levels together. The level selector is hidden when only one level is enabled.
Fast uses LOW; Comprehensive uses HIGH. These settings are enforced on the server for hosted websites and authenticated external customer APIs. Hiding a button in a custom website does not change workspace permissions. Comprehensive still requires a signed-in customer, staff or kiosk session. Guests cannot use Comprehensive. Face analysis has its own access and credit rules.
External API and MCP
Use the workspace's explicit ID and an account integration with the required scopes:
| Action | REST path under /v1/workspaces/{workspaceId} |
Permission |
|---|---|---|
| Read AI settings | GET /ai-settings |
workspace:read |
| Update AI settings | PUT /ai-settings |
workspace:write |
| List reusable questions | GET /questions |
products:read |
| Create a question | POST /questions |
products:write |
| Edit a question | PUT /questions/{id} |
products:write |
| Delete a question | DELETE /questions/{id} |
products:write |
| Read ordered product questions | GET /products/{id}/questions |
products:read |
| Assign questions in order | PUT /products/{id}/questions |
products:write |
| Restore defaults | DELETE /products/{id}/questions |
products:write |
{
"questionIds": [
"87ed930d-f703-4d7e-85a5-c2725900d395",
"16acb4aa-8740-4cbd-af4b-197f7724f384"
]
}
Use real IDs returned by your workspace's question library. IDs from another workspace are rejected. Deleting a library question removes its assignments. Deleting a library question removes that question from assigned products. An explicitly empty question list stays empty. Send questionIds: [] to save no initial questions; use the DELETE assignment endpoint to restore the three template defaults. Product create/update requests also accept an optional questionIds array, saved atomically with the product.
Custom customer applications can read questions for an active product through GET /experience/products/{productId}/questions, with storefront:read plus the applicable visitor access context. This response contains the customer-facing question list, not the workspace library.
See Swagger for request schemas and the customer experience guide for visitor authentication.
