Shopify AI chatbot and store integration
Connect a Shopify store to an Incele workspace, synchronize its variants and inventory, and publish an AI shopping assistant with a Shopify theme app embed.
Installation and workspace approval
- Install the approved Incele app in the intended Shopify store and open it from Shopify Admin.
- Choose Connect workspace and Continue in Incele.
- Sign in to Incele, select a workspace you currently own, and approve the connection.
- Return to Shopify and choose Refresh status.
The one-time connection link expires after 10 minutes. Shopify possession alone does not grant workspace ownership. Production and development are separate app registrations; configure and install the intended app. A development installation does not publish an App Store listing.
Merchant interface language
The embedded dashboard offers English (US), Turkish, German, Spanish, French and Arabic from Interface language. Arabic uses a right-to-left layout. Settings dialogs include the same selector, so changing language preserves your unsaved fields. Numbers, dates and prices follow the selected locale; purchase amounts and currencies remain unchanged.
A saved preference takes priority over a supported platform locale; unsupported values fall back to English (US). Preferences are separated by provider and verified merchant context in this browser. If embedded browser storage is unavailable, the choice lasts for the current page only.
This controls the merchant interface, not customer chatbot or Telegram/WhatsApp reply languages. App Store listing translations are also separate from the dashboard. Platform-hosted payment approval pages use the platform’s own language settings.
Payment history lists this store connection’s purchase attempts with their saved amount, original currency and confirmation status. It does not prove that a monetary refund has completed; refunds need payment-provider confirmation.
Catalogue synchronization
Connection starts an initial import. Each Shopify variant maps to a workspace product, with current inventory, prices, options, descriptions, properties and source images. SKU/barcode matches are tenant-scoped; conflicting identifiers pause for correction. Owner-entered details and other active catalogue sources are retained.
Shopify events and periodic checks refresh imported data. Synchronize again requests a fresh background check. The dashboard separates imported variant counts from queued, processing, retrying and paused tasks; open counters for paginated details. Network failures retry, while permission and identifier problems require correction.
Source images remain on the original CDN and appear as read-only external images. Uploaded workspace images take cover priority. Do not send external URLs as uploaded media IDs. Product status, sellability, inventory quantities and backorder policy are separate facts; an availability indicator must not be presented as a verified unit count.
Automatic updates and recovery
Product creation, updates and deletion, plus inventory changes, trigger authenticated Shopify webhooks. Incele saves and deduplicates these events, then reads the current product or inventory from Shopify rather than treating the webhook payload as the catalogue. Background work is checked every minute; processing time also depends on queue size, Shopify throttling and retries.
A full catalogue discovery becomes eligible again six hours after its last discovery, providing recovery for missed events. This is a recovery interval, not a guaranteed completion deadline. The recommended approach is this combination of targeted webhooks and periodic reconciliation, rather than hourly full imports alone. Keep the app installed and authorized so both paths can run.
Use Product catalog to inspect imported variants, pending tasks and retries. Synchronize again requests another discovery when available; it is a recovery control, not something you need to click after each edit.
Publish the assistant
- Enable and save chatbot settings and exact allowed storefront origins in Incele.
- Open Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds for the published theme.
- Enable Incele chatbot and choose Save.
- Open the storefront to check the launcher.
Opening the theme editor alone does not save activation. Repeat activation after switching to another theme. A missing Shopify CDN extension asset requires the app publisher to fix the theme extension; deploying the Incele API alone does not publish Shopify assets.
Use the workspace's AI Chatbot → Shopify setup flow for links to currently connected stores. Do not paste the generic HTML snippet in addition to the theme app embed.
AI settings and store controls
The embedded merchant app provides workspace connection status, catalogue progress, chatbot appearance, templates, AI behavior, numeric analytics and authorized exports. These settings belong to the workspace and can affect its other experiences. See the chatbot guide for templates, social links, languages, photo analysis and visitor behavior.
The storefront uses visitor credentials and mandatory anonymous verification. Shopify administrator credentials are never delivered to shoppers.
One-time credit purchases
Choose Buy credits in the embedded app, review the charge in Shopify, and approve it there. The server verifies the saved receipt before adding Shopify paid credits to its original workspace. The backend retains receipt identifiers and request UUIDs even though customer-facing charge names omit UUIDs.
Shared free/promotional credits are spent first. Then the Shopify chatbot uses only Shopify paid credits. Incele and ikas paid balances remain separate. Stripe and native store purchases continue to fund Incele credits for standalone experiences. No subscription or automatic renewal is created by a credit pack.
Development app purchases are marked as tests only when the development Shopify billing configuration is valid. A production purchase is a real charge. Shopify app distribution and billing eligibility are separate from publishing an App Store listing; contact support if the provider rejects a purchase before approval.
Analytics, exports and privacy
The dashboard shows store-attributed visitors, opens, conversations, replies, successful AI requests, credit usage, feedback and photos as numbers. These are not sales or conversion guarantees.
Private exports require current store authorization and workspace ownership. Shopify privacy requests are handled through its required compliance webhooks. Anonymous visitor conversations cannot be identified by a Shopify customer email unless a verified association exists. See security.
Disconnect and reinstall
Disconnect in the embedded app or Incele → Integrations → Connections to stop the current Shopify chatbot and sync. The app can remain installed. Source-only products become inactive; products still supplied by another active connection stay available. Workspace data, credit pools and payment receipts remain attached to their original workspace.
Reconnect with explicit workspace approval. Reinstalling never awards another signup grant or converts credits. Uninstall the app in Shopify to revoke its store authorization entirely.
Submission and troubleshooting
Shopify owns its approval, billing-address and payment-method screens. Incele can improve the charge name and pre-purchase explanation, but cannot redesign those screens. A missing billing address or payment method must be resolved by the merchant in Shopify.
An optional public demo-store URL must satisfy Shopify's ownership rules. A reviewer screencast is a separate field and must open without sign-in. Store passwords are visitor passwords, not Shopify account passwords. App review, listing approval and publication are Shopify processes; successful deployment is not App Store approval.
